| description | This article delves into the intellectual contributions generated by the Archaeological Museum and Society of La Serena through the analysis of the scientific production contained in its bulletin during the period of the institutional foundation of anthropological studies in Chile. Through the use of descriptive statistical techniques and content analysis, we define the cognitive dynamics, the volume of scientific production, areas of knowledge, thematic trends, and actors contributing to the development of archaeology and related disciplines. Together with a scientometric analysis, we gather background information to characterize the trajectory of the museum, scientific society, and its members, in the light of the socio-institutional conditions in which the research published in specialized journals is disseminated. The results of this research provide elements that confirm the hypothesis regarding the fragmentation of the fields in anthropology, whose global trend during the period shows the inclination towards the specialization of the areas of knowledge, evidencing the decline of the model of integral science, which outlines archaeology as the predominant field in these studies towards the second half of the 20th century. |

Este artículo profundiza en los aportes intelectuales generados al alero del Museo y Sociedad Arqueológica de La Serena a través del análisis de la producción científica contenida en su boletín durante el periodo de fundamentación institucional de los estudios antropológicos en Chile. Mediante la utilización de técnicas estadísticas descriptivas y análisis de contenido, se definen las dinámicas cognoscitivas, el volumen de la producción científica, áreas de conocimiento, tendencias temáticas y actores que contribuyen al desarrollo de la arqueología y disciplinas afines. Junto al análisis cienciométrico, se reúnen antecedentes que permiten caracterizar la trayectoria del museo, sociedad científica y sus integrantes a la luz de las condiciones socio-institucionales en las que son difundidas las investigaciones publicadas en la revista especializada. Los resultados de esta investigación entregan elementos que confirman la tesis relativa a la fragmentación de los campos en antropología, cuya tendencia global durante la época demuestra la inclinación hacia la especialización de las áreas de conocimiento, dejando en evidencia el declive del modelo de ciencia integral, lo que perfila a la arqueología como el campo predominante en dichos estudios hacia la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Este artigo investiga as contribuições intelectuais geradas pelo Museo y Sociedad Arqueológica de La Serena por meio da análise da produção científica contida em seu boletim durante o período de fundação institucional dos estudos antropológicos no Chile. Com o uso de técnicas estatísticas descritivas e análise de conteúdo, definimos a dinâmica cognitiva, o volume da produção científica, as áreas de conhecimento, as tendências temáticas e os atores que contribuíram para o desenvolvimento da arqueologia e das disciplinas relacionadas. Juntamente com a análise cientométrica, são coletadas informações básicas para caracterizar a trajetória do museu, da sociedade científica e de seus membros à luz das condições socioinstitucionais em que a pesquisa publicada na revista especializada é disseminada.
