description This paper analyzes the role of technology and some communicative artifacts in the university school context. It is what, recently, has been called digital knowledge and that is related to the capacities of subjects to administer, manage and use digital devices and narratives in academic and professional spaces. Thus, the findings of an empirical research conducted at a Mexican university are presented; the sample is simple random probability and is made up of 346 subjects divided by area of knowledge since, we worked with the hypothetical that the discipline of study affects said knowledge. For the analysis, an exploratory KMO factorial and a Bartlett sphericity test were performed; the findings account for the partial incidence of the variable area of knowledge in some of the dimensions analyzed.

La presente investigación analiza el papel de la tecnología y algunos artefactos comunicativos en el contexto escolar universitario. Es lo que, recientemente, se ha denominado saberes digitales y que se relaciona con las capacidades de los sujetos para administrar, gestionar, utilizar dispositivos y narrativas digitales en asuntos académicos y profesionales. Así, se presentan los hallazgos de una investigación empírica realizada en una universidad mexicana. La muestra es probabilística aleatoria simple, compuesta por 346 estudiantes divididos por área de conocimiento, ya que se trabajó con el hipotético de que la carrera universitaria incide en dichos saberes. Para el análisis se realizó un factorial exploratorio de KMO y prueba de esfericidad de Bartlett. Los hallazgos dan cuenta de la incidencia parcial de la variable área de conocimiento en algunas de las dimensiones analizadas.
