El artículo busca realizar un aporte al campo de la educación virtual entendida como un proceso vital cuyo centro es el aprendizaje. Para ello se lleva a cabo una revisión acerca de lo que es aprender a nivel teórico y epistemológico para luego detallar cómo este aprendizaje podría tener una materialización en la educación virtual. Se hace una invitación a considerar el aprendizaje virtual desde el bioaprendizaje, para lo cual se requiere una mirada renovada y nuevas cartografías que permitan acoplar los procesos de educación virtual al enfoque aquí descripto. A modo de cierre, a partir de la experiencia iniciada en la Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional de México (UCIMEXICO), se produce una reflexión sobre las prácticas en educación virtual que se construyen desde el paradigma del bioaprendizaje.
