La Estancia de Yapeyú, fue una extensa unidad productiva de los jesuitas ubicada en la ribera Oriental del río Uruguay, al norte de la desembocadura del río Negro. Fue iniciada desde el pueblo del mismo nombre, sobre el Paraná, en la actual Provincia de Corrientes (Argentina). Su existencia ganadera dejó marca en ese país dado que antecedió a la república en el tipo de sostén de esa actividad económica e influyó, entre mediados del siglo XVII y la expulsión de los jesuitas (1767) en el gobierno y adoctrinamiento de la población indígena local. En este trabajo se presenta una síntesis de su problemática y un estudio preliminar de los vestigios que pueden corresponder a sus instalaciones meridionales en la cuenca del río Queguay Grande, en el oriente del Departamento de Paysandú (Uruguay). La Estancia de Yapeyú, fue una extensa unidade produtiva dos jesuítas ubicada na ribeira oriental do rio Uruguai, ao norte da desembocadura do rio Negro. Fue del iniciado desde o pueblo nombre nombre, sobre o Paraná, na atual Província de Corrientes (Argentina). Sua existência ganadera dejó marca neste país dado que antecipou a república no tipo de sostén de esa atividade econômica e influência, entre mediados pelo símbolo XVII e a expulsão dos jesuítas (1767) no governo e doutrina da população indígena local .
