Summary: | The conditioning, monitoring of bibliophagous insects and digitization of notebooks, diaries, correspondence andinventory notebooks of expeditions made in the argentine Northwest in 1919 and 1929 of the Benjamín MunizBarreto Collection, Documentary Archive of the Archeology Division (Museum of La Plata, Argentina) were carried out.These documents consulted repeatedly for 90 years added to the attack caused by insects, revealed deteriorationsthat warrant adequate approaches for their long-term preservation. The preventive conservation, remedialconservation and restoration procedure implement in these heritage assets is detailed, highlighting their importanceas a scientific document when contextualizing the collected objects, and as high-value historical documents in theinstitutionalization of the archaeological discipline. |
