El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir y analizar el proceso de traducción de los textos Reform of the Law of Intestate Succession de Gareth Miller (Texto A) y The Children Act 1989 and Children “In Need” de June Thoburn (Texto B), a la luz de los enfoques comunicativos y socioculturales en el campo de la traducción, identificados de esta manera por Hurtado Albir (2001). Primero, se describirán brevemente los aspectos lingüísticos y extralingüísticos de ambos textos. Luego, se efectuará una reseña del marco teórico aplicado y la fundamentación de dicha selección. En tercer lugar, se hará referencia a los problemas de traducción encontrados y se detallarán las soluciones halladas, junto con el trabajo de gestión terminológica realizado y, finalmente, se desarrollará una conclusión.
