El presente artículo da a conocer la experiencia de un taller fotográfico, realizado con estudiantes de grado quinto en la Unidad Educativa San Marcos de Envigado-Colombia, en el marco de la asignatura Lengua castellana. Este espacio se presenta como una aproximación a la recepción estética de la imagen y al reconocimiento del otro y del entorno que nos rodea, mediados por la imagen fotográfica como dinamizadora de la consciencia del mirar. Es, a su vez, una reflexión de la lectura de otros sistemas simbólicos y la producción de la imagen fotográfica como un acto estético dentro de la educación primaria.
