Description
Summary:The Unified Protocol (UP) is a transdiagnostic intervention for emotional disorders that aims to intervene on the temperamental traits associated with neuroticism rather than on its derived symptomatic manifestations. Given the dysfunctional effects of emotional suppression on emotion dysregulation have been studied, one of the core skills of UP is mindful emotion awareness. The present study aimed to explore the preliminary impact of the online group application of UP on psychological distress, neuroticism and mindfulness skills in Argentina. A significant increase in the levels of mindfulness and a significant decrease in psychopathological symptoms were found, although there were no significant differences in the levels of neuroticism. Further research is required on this subject since the evidence about the impact of PU on neuroticism is still controversial.
