description Mi Ciudad Canta (My City Sings) has been a consolidated outreach program in the city of Cordoba since 2015, enabling children who attend municipal schools to be the leading performers in a large-scale artistic production. In its first four editions, nearly six thousand boys and girls (more than one thousand per edition), joined by their music teachers, performed as a choir together with the Municipal String Orchestra, and students doing a degree in Music Education Teaching and in Choral Conducting at the School of Arts (UNC). The main goals of this experiential project have been to promote music education at schools through artistic productions, to provide local music teachers with opportunities for continuous professional development and to connect the alumni attending the School of Arts with local groups related to their future professional scope. As a result of this program, we believe that a network has been established among the municipal schools, local professional artists and the National University of Cordoba, alma mater of future educators and conductors, whose aim is to ensure the right of access to culture to the most vulnerable groups in Cordoba. This document provides general information about the program, a description of each edition and some thoughts on the experience.

This document provides general information about the program, a description of each edition and some thoughts on the experience.
