The work is oriented to test a didactic proposal using social networks as a catalyst to generate teaching-learning processes in Excel functions, analyzing the academic performance of 32 students of the Subject “Informatics” in the Industrial Engineering Program at the University Foundation of Huila - CORHUILA. The students presented difficulties in the appropriation of contents, abilities, skills and motivation, prioritizing other interests and non-academic activities, thus becoming a problem, rather than a solution. A pretest was carried out in order to define an initial diagnosis; videos and images were given so that each teacher reinforced concepts and assigned activities based on information selection, analysis capacity, pertinence and relevance of the participations in forums through Facebook. The process evaluation defined by the post test showed that there is a gain of knowledge and that its use allows enhancing communication, participation and interaction of the students.
