El análisis de las prácticas de politización de las clases subalternas, por parte de los teóricos de la transición en Chile, se efectuó bajo las premisas de la inmunización política y de la excepcionalidad de la violación del Estado de Derecho que implicó el golpe de Estado. Esto proyectó una lectura del proceso que permitió identificar el fracaso de la Unidad Popular en sentido de futuro.
