“…This is a chronic progressive inflammatory condition, probably underdiagnose, that has tendency to occur more often in patients with other autoimmune disorders.The aim of the present study was to determine gastric autoantibodies in pediatric patients with Type 1 Diabetes (T1DM) and/or Autoimmune Thyroid Disease (AITD) and establish its prevalence. In those patients who had some type of antibody, gastrin levels were determined.The results were analyzed through nonparametric tests and Chi-square statistics.A total of 69 patients were studied, of them 40 had diagnostic of T1DM, 20 had AITD and 9 exhibited both diseases. …”
