Palabras clave: *Dislipemia * Tratamiento antirretroviral ABSTRACTA prospective analysis in order to evaluate the effect of antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV infection on lipid profile in a group of 41 patients, assessing the values of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides was performed before and after starting treatment. The results obtained in this study showedin the selected patient population, changes in the lipid profile in a similar way to those reported by other authors. This complication associated with ART leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease corroborating the need for periodic evaluation of the lipid profile in patients receiving this treatment.…”

About an observation of multiple extragenital syphilitic chancres (two on the lower lip and one on the right shoulder). by Garzón, Rafael

    Published 1943
“…In a previous publication, I had the opportunity to recall briefly the curious circumstances that favored the contamination of syphilis in an indigent family, taken from a syphilitic chancre of peri-anal localization in a passive pedophile child, to his own mother, in whom appeared after a month of infection in her son, a syphilitic chancre of the right ear lobe; From the information gathered on that occasion about the possible form of contamination in the mother, it could only be deduced that it was due to the absolute lack of precautions on the part of the sick son, who, without any dressing to protect the lesion, sowed his treponemes in the bedclothes used by both of them. …”

    Published 2013
“…However, IL-17-producing B cells act by controlling the inflammation and reducing INF-gamma and TNF levels in a Trypanosoma cruzi infection experimental model. Intriguingly, we found that B cells are polyclonally activated after direct exposure to T. cruzi or to the trans-sialidase enzyme of this parasite and that trans-sialidase modifies glycoproteins on the B cell membrane and induces a signaling pathway dependent on the tyrosine phosphatase CD45 and the kinases Src and Btk-Tec that culminates in the expression of IL-17A and IL-17F in both mouse and human B cells.…”
