En este trabajo se pone a prueba la propuesta de clasificación desarrollada por Clara Podestá y Elena Perrotta para los pucos de la colección Muniz Barreto del Museo de La Plata, del Período Tardío en los Valles Calchaquíes del Noroeste Argentino. Con este fin se analizan las piezas de la colección Bruch de dicho museo, siguiendo los criterios de asignación de fases propuestos por las autoras. Se genera un sistema de asignación de puntos según las variables que presenta cada puco para determinada característica vinculada a las fases. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el 53% de la muestra seleccionada puede clasificarse con seguridad en una de las seis fases, mientras que el 47% restante no. Considerando aportes de otros autores y variables observadas en las piezas analizadas, se presenta una propuesta de ampliación de criterios para asignación de fases.
