Debate surrounding the social stigma of disability, patients rights and the difficulties to access the health system will be discussed. The analysis focuses on how professionals work with patients and their families to offer the Disability Certificate as a strategy, and how this strategy could enhance prognosis of children and teenagers once they leave the hospital to attend other institutions. |

Este artículo se basa en una investigación etnográfica llevada adelante durante los años 2020 y 2021 en el hospital público Carolina Tobar García, único monovalente en salud mental infanto-juvenil de la Argentina. Tiene como objetivo analizar el lugar de la certificación de discapacidad en las prácticas y estrategias de los/las profesionales al momento de abordar ciertas problemáticas. Se desarrollará la tensión que existe entre los estigmas sociales de la discapacidad y la accesibilidad a derechos que el Certificado Único de Discapacidad confiere. En este sentido, se analizará de qué manera los/las profesionales trabajan el certificado con los/las pacientes y sus grupos familiares. También, se abordará la importancia de la certificación de discapacidad para mejorar el pronóstico de los/las niño/as y adolescentes que se atienden en la institución cuando deben ser externados. Este artigo é baseado em uma pesquisa etnográfica realizada durante os anos de 2020 e 2021 no hospital público Carolina Tobar García, o único monovalente em saúde mental infantil e adolescente na Argentina. Seu objetivo é analisar o lugar da certificação da deficiência nas práticas e estratégias dos profissionais ao lidar com determinados problemas. Será desenvolvida a tensão que existe entre os estigmas sociais da deficiência e a acessibilidade aos direitos que o Certificado Único de Incapacidade confere. Nesse sentido, será analisado como os profissionais trabalham o certificado com os pacientes e seus grupos familiares.
