From a theoretical perspective considers the triadic model elaborated by Christopher Mitchell. Selects that historical stage given that it is assumed that is where are the factors that lead the negotiations to a deadlock since the question arises in zerosum terms: self- determination / sovereignty. El artículo propone un análisis de la disputa anglo- argentina por las Islas Malvinas, en la etapa de presentación ante Naciones Unidas, década del ‘60. Desde una perspectiva teórica adopta el modelo tríadico aportado por Christopher Mitchell. Toma esa etapa histórica teniendo en cuenta que se parte del supuesto que es allí donde aparecen los factores que llevan a la negociación a un punto muerto en tanto se plantea la cuestión en términos suma cero: autodeterminación / soberanía.
