Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Facultad de Lenguas; Argentina. This dissertation is part of and expands on the work that the research group Post-Translation and Interculturality from a Latin-American Argentina or P-TIAL (UNC) has been doing regarding alternative translation rationales that could potentially be used to address current translation problems. The corpus with which this group has been working includes some rather old, but nevertheless still relevant texts, including General Manuel Belgrano’s translation of the Farewell Address that George Washington wrote in 1796 (Washington, 1793). In this thesis, the work of Manuel Belgrano as a translator is used as a starting point to think of new ways of addressing current translation problems, especially in regards to terms in diplomatic and intercultural tension appearing in Argentine and international documents. To do so, post-modulation, a revised version of Newmark’s modulation (1988), is introduced. Fil: D’Adam, Antuel. Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
