This program contains brief notes which describe each type of tumour and color photomicrographs of representative tumours. According to the program salivary glands are comparatively simple structurally. Their ducts and acini, however, can give use to a considerable number of histologically distinct tumour types. Consequently, these tumors have been classified in a variety of ways in a variety of countries. These variations were taken into consideration in determining the following classification scheme. The major divisions and subdivisions of this scheme are as follows: epithelial tumours, adenomas, mucoepidermoid tumour, acinic cell tumours, carcinomas; non-epithelial tumours, unclassified tumours; allied conditions, benign lymphoepithelial lesions, sialosis, oncocytosis.
