Este estudio tiene como finalidad analizar las propiedades psicométricas del inventario de Inteligencia Socioemocional en su versión para jóvenes (EQ-i-YV). Se aplicó el instrumento a una muestra de 839 adolescentes mexicanos con un rango de edad entre 12 y 16 años. Los resultados muestran una estructura similar a las validaciones hechas en lengua castellana, a excepción de la división de uno de los factores, así mismo se plantea una versión corta del instrumento, obtenida a través de la eliminación de los ítems agruparon independiente a la propuesta del modelo teórico y de aquellos con bajos pesos factoriales que al ser eliminados aumentaban la validez de la escala.
