On the occasion of the Census of 1889, carried out in the Province of Córdoba, the historical part was entrusted to Mr. Mariano A. Pelliza, the biographical and bibliographical part to Mr. Benigno T. Martínez, the geographical part to Dr. Arturo Schelstrong and the climatological part to Dr. Osear Doering. These works constitute volume 1 of 464 pages in 464 pages in 4.º. published by Stiller and Laas. Buenas Aires, 1890. The most original thing is that only one complete copy of this work is preserved in the University of Cordoba, another in the possession of the Director of the Census, Dr. Latzina, and perhaps some more in the possession of other people, because the printer Sti1ler withdrew the edition, for lack of payment, as it was said at the time. Rewriting what Mr. Martínez has written in the Introduction, he has sent us from Paraná, his current residence, the present chapter.
