Este artículo tiene como objetivo comentar brevemente la obra Los derechos humanos en el cine, escrita por Benjamín Rivaya García. El libro en cuestión es un original ejercicio de análisis sobre la presencia que los derechos humanos han tenido en la narración cinematográfica a lo largo de la historia. Tal y como nos explica su autor, los fines perseguidos por la obra son explicar la particular forma en la que el cine se relaciona con el mundo jurídico, identificar los elementos de corte ideológico que se encuentran presentes en el discurso fílmico y reivindicar el papel indiscutible que el cine tiene a día de hoy como recurso educativo. Su lectura resulta especialmente reveladora a la hora abordar todas estas amplias cuestiones, las cuales no siempre son tratadas conforme a la importancia que sin duda les es propia. Aquí trataremos de realizar una breve exposición y comentario de los temas principales tratados en el libro, con la intención de fomentar un acercamiento diferente y placentero al arte cinematográfico.
