| description | This article consists of an analysis of the opening lectures delivered by two female educators at the First International Feminist Congress held in Buenos Aires in 1910. The first speech, of liberal character, was given by Argentine Ernestina López, and the second, with anarcho-socialist elements, by Chilean María Espíndola de Muñoz. With a gender-focused approach to the research of the history of education, a critical analysis of said speeches has been conducted from a Laclausian perspective, identifying topics in which the relevance of women’s education on their emancipation prevails. Within this epochal mood, the emerging social movement sheds light internationally on criticism of the patriarchal model from a perspective of rights in which meanings of education in women’s construction as social, political, and cultural beings are configured. Neither position is exclusionary of other expressions circulating the debates at the event.

En el presente artículo se analizan los discursos inaugurales de dos mujeres educadoras pronunciados en el Primer Congreso Femenino Internacional realizado en Buenos Aires en 1910. El primero, de adscripción liberal, corresponde a la argentina Ernestina López y el segundo, con tintes anarco-socialistas, a la chilena María Espíndola de Muñoz. Desde un enfoque de género en los estudios de historia de la educación, realizamos un análisis crítico de los discursos desde la perspectiva laclausiana, identificando temáticas en las cuales prevalece la importancia de la educación de las mujeres para su emancipación. En este clima epocal, el movimiento social emergente visibiliza, con transcendencia internacional, la crítica al modelo patriarcal desde una perspectiva de derechos, en la cual se configuran sentidos de la educación de las mujeres en su constitución como sujetxs sociales, políticos y culturales. Ambas posiciones no son excluyentes de otras expresiones que circularon en los debates que tuvieron lugar en este evento. Palabras claves: Congreso, mujeres, educación, feminismo, emancipación. Este artigo analisa os discursos inaugurais de duas educadoras proferidos no Primeiro Congresso Internacional de Mulheres, realizado em Buenos Aires em 1910. A primeira, de filiação liberal, corresponde à argentina Ernestina López e a segunda, com conotações anarco-socialistas, à chilena María Espíndola de Muñoz. A partir de uma perspectiva de gênero na história dos estudos da educação, realizamos uma análise crítica dos discursos na perspectiva laclausiana, identificando temas em que prevalece a importância da educação das mulheres para a sua emancipação. Neste clima de época, o movimento social emergente torna visível, com significado internacional, a crítica ao modelo patriarcal numa perspectiva de direitos, em que os significados da educação das mulheres se configuram na sua constituição como sujeitos sociais, políticos e culturais. Ambas as posições não excluem outras expressões que circularam nos debates ocorridos neste evento. Palavras-chave: Congresso, mulheres, educação, feminismo, emancipaçãoa.
