Summary:This paper presents and analyzes the productive, technological and entrepreneurial evolution of Chañarmuyo Winery, located in La Rioja, Argentina. Through a case study, productive efforts to transform the Chañarmuyo Valley into a wine region are identified. The financial capacity of its owner, human resources, technological capabilities, high-altitude wines (high-end), non-traditional strains and wine tourism exploitation of the Valley stand out as critical resources. In terms of their links with the System of Innovation, relationships of support and technological investment are identified, in particular with the Government of La Rioja and the Argentine Technological Fund and, commercial, productive and innovation linkages with Mendoza´s wineries. This paper contributes to the registration and conceptualization of unexplored business cases, relevant for the productive development of La Rioja and Northwest Argentina (NOA).
