In 2021, as part of the call for the University Extension Initiation Scholarships from the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, we presented an extension project aimed at the heritage valuation of the documentary collection of a Human Rights organization in Córdoba, Argentina, "Familiares de Desaparecidos y Detenidos por Razones Políticas de Córdoba," which would allow for the identification, systematization, and preservation of its cultural heritage.
The Human Rights Movement in Córdoba, and within it, "Familiares," prioritized its own documentation in the context of legal action and the implementation of restorative policies. With over four decades of existence, the organization has accumulated a significant amount of documentation in various formats, media, purposes, and uses, related to the struggles for Memory, Truth, and Justice of the organization itself and other members of the Human Rights Movement in Córdoba.
We believe that the possibility of working with this collection will be a central contribution to the implementation of public Memory policies, creating conditions for safeguarding an invaluable legacy of the struggles for Truth and Justice by one of the key actors in the construction of democracy in these forty years.
