El presente artículo propone pensar el duelo desde una perspectiva espacial a partir del análisis de Pinamar (2016) de Federico Godfrid, Las olas de Natalia Dagatti (2017) y Los miembros de la familia (2019) de Mateo Bendesky. La reciente muerte de la madre es el motor narrativo de estas tres películas que transcurren en pueblos o ciudades de la costa atlántica de Buenos Aires durante la temporada baja. Este ensayo indaga la relación entre duelo y espacio y cómo el retorno a un lugar transitorio y la materialidad del paisaje se presentan como formas cinematográficas y narrativas de representar la dislocación del yo ante una ausencia.
