Summary:The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) is an instrument of great interest in the fields of clinical and applied research. However, the study on its psychometric properties in Mexican population has been limited. The objective of this study was to analyse the dimensionality of DERS-15 in Mexican adult population, through an instrumental, cross-sectional design. 252 university students from the open and distance learning system participated, aged 18 to 57 (M = 31.8, SD = 8.96), selected by non-probabilistic intentional sampling. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed, in which two factorial models were tested(two and six dimensions). A six-factor model demonstrated a better fit. The internal consistency and reliability of the entire scale were adequate (ωH = .80).
