Description
Summary:The main objective of the study was to identify the significant differences between early maladaptive schemas (EMTs) in samples of university students of psychology and engineering from universities in Metropolitan Lima. This was a descriptive, comparative study with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 406 psychology and engineering students, selected under a non-probabilistic purposive sampling, with prior approval of the informed consent of each participant. A sociodemographic survey and the Early Maladaptive Schema Questionnaire (YSQ - S3) were used as instruments. The results show that there are significant differences in the 18 EMTs between the group of psychology and engineering students. Finally, this study will serve as a baseline for future research to compare EMTs in two or more independent populations, also, thanks to its results, it will be helpful for the creation and implementation of both prevention and intervention programs.
