This study examined the relationships among the Dart Triad (machiavellianism, subclinical narcissism and subclinical psychopathy) and academic procrastination and academic dishonesty. Two hundred and ten participants, ranging in age from 18 to 51 years., completed the Dirty Dozen, the Academic Procrastination Scale-Short Form and an academic dishonesty ad hoc scale designed to evaluate the frequency of engagement in academic dishonesty behaviours. Using hierarchical regression analyses, controlling for age and gender, it was found that machiavellianism and low narcissism were significative predictors of academic procrastination; while machiavellianism was the only significative predictor of academic dishonesty. The present study contributes to a better understanding of the causes of procrastination and academic dishonesty.
