description Currently, due to the vertiginous changes that are taking place and impacting the ways of living and working, the focus of the education models has changed from a work based on objectives to a perspective focused on skills training. Training in skills means that the student learns to use his knowledge adapting it to the problematic situations that arise, reacts quickly in search of a solution, so that by exercising an effective selective tracking among the innumerable knowledge available, he decides with critical judgment which is the most convenient to apply. Educators carry out a professional activity and as such, they must be endowed with the resources that allow them to function adequately, appropriately and coherently with the reality in which they work to respond to the needs of the environment. Therefore, it is essential to investigate the competencies that give them professionalism.

Actualmente, debido a los vertiginosos cambios que se producen e impactan en los modos de vivir y trabajar, el enfoque de los modelos de educación ha variado desde un trabajo basado en los objetivos hacia una perspectiva centrada en la formación en competencias. Formar en capacidades significa que el educando aprenda a utilizar sus conocimientos adecuándolos a las situaciones problemáticas que se presenten, reaccione rápidamente en busca de una solución para que, al ejercer un eficaz rastreo selectivo entre los innumerables saberes disponibles, decida con juicio crítico cuál es el más conveniente para aplicar. Los educadores llevan a cabo una actividad profesional y, como tal, deben estar dotados de recursos que les permitan desenvolverse con idoneidad, pertinencia y coherencia en función de la realidad en la cual se desempeñan para dar respuestas a las necesidades del entorno. Por lo tanto, se destaca como imprescindible indagar las competencias que les confiere el profesionalismo.
