Description
Summary:The present research summarizes the peak of the crisis in Spain, in Ireland and in the southern economies of the euro zone. For this purpose, it has been carried out a chronological review of the facts published in press and narrated on the radio programme “El equipo económico de La linterna” in Cadena Cope from May 2010 to July 2012. The crisis was financial in nature —as it was caused by the burst of the property bubble, which led to the collapse of a great number of saving banks—. There was also a crisis of sovereign debt which damaged the domestic economy, with a rise of unemployment. Reconstructing the chronology of that stage of the crisis, with the experts’ analysis, will allow to identify the main news milestones and will help focus on its causes and consequences in order to know the lessons learnt during that period.
