The analysis discuss with the local hegemonic historiography that has imposed a notion of traditional tranquility in Mendoza, wich assign to revolutionary militants the image of infiltrators. The work supports the hypothesis that the birth of this revolutionary organization in the province was due to a politicization process of large local sectors.

En el presente artículo reconstruimos y analizamos los orígenes del Partido Revolucionario de los Trabajadores-Ejército Revolucionario del Pueblo (PRT-ERP) en la provincia de Mendoza, a mediados de 1973. Las fuentes utilizadas son entrevistas de elaboración propia y periódicos locales. El análisis se da en debate con la historiografía hegemónica local que ha impuesto una noción de tradicional tranquilidad en Mendoza, asignando a las y los militantes revolucionarios la imagen de infiltrados. El trabajo sustenta la hipótesis de que el nacimiento de esta organización revolucionaria en la provincia obedeció a un proceso de politización previo de amplios sectores locales.
