It was found that 3% obtained high scores in relation to alcohol consumption, and that 35% presented moderate values of depression. A significant association was found between both variables. Depression was a significant predictor of risky alcohol consumption. Lastly, young people presented greater depressive symptoms than young adults and adults. The implications of these results are discussed. |

The implications of these results are discussed. Debido a la pandemia por el brote del nuevo COVID-19 en Argentina, como en distintos países del mundo, se optó por medidas de distanciamiento social. En este contexto, se ha reportado un aumento de distintas problemáticas psicológicas tales como la depresión o el consumo riesgoso de alcohol. Este trabajó se propuso como objetivo general conocer el comportamiento de la sintomatología depresiva y el consumo riesgoso de alcohol. Para ello se seleccionó una muestra de 386 adultos de Buenos Aires. Se halló que el 3% obtuvo puntajes indicativos de problemas con el consumo de alcohol y que un 35% presentó valores moderados de sintomatología depresiva. Se halló una asociación significativa entre la sintomatología depresiva y el consumo de alcohol. A su vez, se encontró que los jóvenes presentaron mayor sintomatología depresiva que los jóvenes adultos y los adultos. Se discuten las implicaciones de estos resultados. Devido à pandemia causada pela eclosão do novo COVID-19 na Argentina, como em diferentes países do mundo, foram escolhidas medidas de distanciamento social. Diferentes investigações sobre o impacto associado ao confinamento subsequente. Foi relatado um aumento em diferentes problemas psicológicos, como depressão ou risco de consumo de álcool. Este trabalho teve como objetivo geral conhecer o comportamento dos sintomas depressivos e do risco de consumo de álcool. Para isso, foi selecionada uma amostra de 386 adultos de Buenos Aires. Verificou-se que 3% obtiveram escores altos em relação ao consumo de álcool e 35% apresentaram valores moderados de depressão. Foi encontrada associação significativa entre as duas variáveis. A depressão foi um preditor significativo do risco de consumo de álcool e os jovens apresentaram mais sintomas depressivos do que os adultos e adultos jovens. As implicações desses resultados são discutidas.
