As part of a broader investigation, where the Network's path between 1987 and 1992 —the last year of formal existence— is exhaustively reported, this work focuses on the analysis of the material, discursive and cultural conditions that made its emergence possible, to then examine in detail its first year of life, taking into account the different instances of dialogue substantiated by the regional filmmakers. |

Este artículo aborda el fenómeno del Movimiento Latinoamericano de Video, que fue una red de experiencias heterogénea cuya acta de fundación se formalizó en diciembre de 1987 en el marco del IX Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana. El Movimiento funcionó como un espacio de interlocución e integración subcontinental, preocupado por: establecer relaciones de cooperación y evitar la atomización de experiencias, potenciar el desarrollo y organización de los grupos nacionales en pos del cambio democrático, mejorar e incrementar la fluidez de información y circulación de producciones, sistematizar las propuestas en curso, socializar aprendizajes parciales y generar ámbitos de capacitación. Como parte de una investigación más amplia, que da cuenta exhaustivamente del derrotero de la Red entre 1987 y 1992 —último año de existencia formal–, este trabajo se concentra en el análisis de las condiciones materiales, discursivas y culturales que hicieron posible su emergencia, para luego examinar con detalle su primer año de vida, tomando en cuenta las distintas instancias de diálogo que sustanciaron los realizadores de la región. Este artigo está interessado em abordar o fenômeno do Movimento Latino-Americano de Vídeos, que era uma rede heterogênea de experiências cujo ato fundador foi formalizado em dezembro de 1987, no âmbito do IX Festival Internacional de Novo Cinema Latino-Americano, em Havana. O Movimento funcionou como um espaço para o diálogo e a integração sub-continentais preocupados com: estabelecer relações de cooperação e evitar a atomização de experiências, promover o desenvolvimento e a organização de grupos nacionais em busca de mudanças democráticas, melhorando e aumentando o fluxo de informação e circulação produções, sistematizar as propostas em andamento, socializar aprendizado parcial e gerar áreas de treinamento.Como parte de uma investigação mais ampla em que o curso da Rede entre 1987 e 1992 - último ano de existência formal - é exaustivamente relatado, este trabalho se concentra na análise das condições materiais, discursivas e culturais que possibilitaram seu surgimento, para examinar detalhadamente seu primeiro ano de vida, levando em consideração as diferentes instâncias de diálogo que substanciaram os cineastas da região.
