Description
Summary:This paper provides a survey of argentine normative studies on cognitive tests for adults. A systematic review (period 2000-2020) was carried out from the search in the databases Dialnet, Scielo, LILACS, electronic library MINCyT of Argentina, Google academic and Pubmed. 42 academic papers were included in the review. These studies standardize a total of 26 tests of different cognitive domains, mainly attentional processes, memory, language, and executive functions. The studies were based mainly on populations of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires with upper-secondary education. It is recommended that future normative studies contribute to a broader national geographic coverage, specify the exact place of residence of the population analyzed, and include a representative percentage of subjects with low education. Likewise, it is suggested that psychologists and neurologists take this review into consideration when preparing their own neurocognitive assessment, always attentive to future regulatory updates.
