Description
Summary:University Social Responsibility (USR) is a new management model that is committed to its economic, social and environmental context. It is usually justified in philosophical concepts which are rooted in some robust theoretical foundations. Thus, some authors state that RSU implies "ethical duties", "university democracy" or a "new social contract". However, these statements are rarely explained. This article comments on those concepts, with emphasis on two issues: ethics and democracy. This will allow us to argue about the ethical tradition that justifies RSU and the model of democracy that it advocates.
