En este artículo se presentan algunos resultados encontrados a partir de llevar adelante una investigación sobre las posibilidades de uso y apropiación de las Nuevas Tecnologías (TIC) por parte de los alumnos “futuros formadores” de un Instituto de Formación Docente Nivel EGB 1y 2 (ISFD), de la ciudad de Córdoba, durante los años 2008 y 2009. A partir de esta investigación se pudo estudiar al grupo en sus características socio-culturales, las cuales se pretendían relacionar con sus prácticas tecnológicas. Además se pudieron identificar en dicho grupo las condiciones de acceso material y significados asociados al uso de tecnologías, en especial lo relativo a la computadora e Internet. Estos aspectos analizados nos permiten advertir que la competencia digital, como saber localizado, está fuertemente condicionada por la experiencia de formación, es decir, por el tránsito de estos a jóvenes y adultos por la institución escolar, más que por aspectos socio-culturales y de acceso tecnológicos.
