The Raven Progressive Matrices Test is an alterna-tive to assess intelligence in preschool children. This study attempted to determine percentiles in the Raven Matrices Test to assess Cuban children between 4 and 6 years old, to validate these percentiles regarding a Cuban cut-off point (Ramírez-Benítez et al., 2015) and to determine the psycho-metric properties of the test through item analysis. A total of 803 children (380 boys) were selected in 15 regular edu-cational institutions in the cities of Cienfuegos and Matan-zas, Cuba. The validity analysis between a Cuban cut-off point and the obtained percentiles indicated that these per-centiles should be used in practice with caution. However, percentiles allow for a more flexible assessment in children with neurodevelopmental disorder than the Cuban cut-off point from Ramírez-Benítez et al., 2015. Evidence supports adequacy of percentiles to assess Cuban preschool children, although further validity studies are required to support these findings.
