| description | The article studiesprovincial party organizations, through the analysis of electoral processes, recruitment patterns and candidates trajectories; which are approached through a qualitative methodological strategy. It presents a case study about Frente Cívico, the party in office in Santiago del Estero, considering the period 2005-2013. The party is concentrated on the top and, at the same time, decentralized in the base, the same structure of the previous governing party, the Peronism. The emergency of FrenteCívico does not suppose the replacement ofapolitical elite for other one, but a change in the positions near and far away from the political center and, in some cases, the permanency of politicians with personal political capital.In the courseof municipal elections, party conflicts are resolved in the territory and new members of the governing party emerge. The electoral processes appear as central moments of powerdispute. The article contributes tonuance the vision of provincial politicsas exclusively concentrated in the governor, and it shows certain continuities regarding electoral practices and political personnel in the successive parties in office. |

El artículo indaga sobre las organizaciones partidarias provinciales, a través del estudio de los procesos electorales y las pautas de reclutamiento y trayectorias de los candidatos; que son abordados a través de una estrategia metodológica cualitativa. Se realiza un estudio de caso, sobre el Frente Cívico, partido gobernante en Santiago del Estero, tomando el período 2005-2013. Se describe un partido concentrado en la cúspide y , al mismo tiempo, descentralizado en la base, replicando la estructura del partido gobernante anterior, el peronismo. La emergencia del Frente Cívico no supone el reemplazo de una elite política por otra, sino un recambio en las posiciones más o menos cercanas al centro político y, en algunos casos, la permanencia de quienes disponen de un capital político personal propio. Se observa cómo en el curso de las elecciones municipales, se resuelven las disputas partidarias en el territorio y surgen los nuevos integrantes del partido de gobierno. Los procesos electorales se revelan así momentos centrales de disputa de poder. El trabajo permite matizar la visión de una política concentrada en el gobernador, así como mostrar ciertas continuidades en cuanto a las prácticas electorales y la integración de las filas partidarias en los sucesivos partidos de gobierno.
