El presente trabajo busca restituir el movimiento realizado por Louis Althusser a fin de pensar un marxismo en términos no hegelianos. Esta apuesta, que no era solamente teórica sino también política, implicaba un desvío por la figura de Baruch Spinoza con el objeto de rescatar su pensamiento. Así, considerando los estudios de comentaristas especializados sobre el tema, hemos querido dar cuenta de cómo aquellos tópicos eminentemente spinozianos, la epistemología y la totalidad, resultan especialmente proficuos para llevar a cabo la empresa althusseriana propuesta.
