But if we compare two or more occipitals, we will discover at once, that there is not the same disposition of these accidents, but on the contrary, they are all different.
There are no two alike; as happens in the thumb of the fingers, with the distribution and shape of the epidermis, which is used as an element of identification and is specific to each individual.
This fact has helped us to study, in some isolated bones, which we reproduce photographically in our work, the variations that are usually observed and, above all, to find the explanation for them. |

Si se examina detenidamente la cara endocraneana del occipital, nos llamará La atención, una serie de accidentes anatómicos, perfectamente conocidos y que alternadamente, se presentan, como excavaciones o fosas y saliencias o relieves, comunes a todos y del mismo carácter. Pero si comparamos dos o más occipitales, descubriremos de inmediato, que no existe la misma disposición de estos accidentes, sino que por el contrario, todos son distintos. No existen dos iguales; como sucede en el pulpejo de los dedos, con la distribución y forma de la epidermis, que se usa como 1 elemento de identificación y es propia de cada individuo. Este hecho, nos ha servido, para estudiar, en algunos huesos aislados, que reproducimos fotográficamente en nuestro trabajo, las variaciones que se observan habitualmente y sobre todo, encontrar la explicación de las mismas.
