Kongjian Yu (simplified Chinese: 俞孔坚; traditional Chinese: 俞孔堅; pinyin: Yú Kǒngjiān) is a Chinese landscape architect and urban planner. He is a professor at Peking University and the founder of Turenscape, a design firm specializing in landscape architecture, urban planning, and ecological restoration. Yu is best known for developing the "sponge cities" concept, which promotes nature-based solutions for managing urban water. His research has shaped national policies in China and has been adopted in urban planning projects around the world.
